Unfortunately we are forced to give up with one special task - eksploration of a cave (on both routes). We got the information from forest inspectorate that in area of the cave there is a natural lynx procreation area. Lynx are protected species. According to the law we should stay away from all wild animals pocreation areas. Therefore we need to modify planned route. It's a pity because a cave exploration would be an amazing experience. Caves in this area are one of the most beautiful in Poland. But we need to remember that Adventure Racing is a kind of sport that happens with a full respect to the nature. It uses nature beauty but is never harmful.

SPEED RACE

Only 2 weeks left to another edition of BWC, so we can disclose some details about this years route and special tasks.
The weather this year is really fitful. There is still snow in the higher part of mountains, but sunny and warm days are disturbing our plans a little bit. Therefore the stages and tasks can still change, even just before the start.

On the MASTERS route we have for you complitely new, exciting task (as for the winter time) - to defeat a water slalom on the mountain river by pontoon!!!
We recommend to take another clothes (neoprene suit).
We can organize a suit for the pontoon task, but another teams will need to use it wet, that's why it's good to have your own neoprene suit. It's an extra security in case of falling to the water :)

This year for the first time in history of BWC we will host Italian team on the speed route! We hope that a fiery Italian temperament will make the atmosphere of our severe Polish winter a bit warmer. The weather forecasters expect a big comeback of a hard frost.

Routes of this year's MINI BWC were not very difficult to navigate. But pretty big altitude differences, and most of all technical difficulties (roads covered with ice, wet and heavy snow) were strongly felt by participants.

The rivalry on the route of MINI BWC 2008 is finished. A fitful weather (rain and snow) as well as the route were felt by many competitors. All of them got back safely to the race base, but not everyone managed to finish the route.

We reveal the order and distance of stages at MINI BWC 2008

Etap 1 / Stage 1 – Rowery górskie / Mountain biking – 28,0 km
Etap 2 / Stage 2 – Trekking / Trekking – 23,5 km
Etap 3 / Stage 3 – Rowery górskie / Mountain biking – 16,5 km

- trasa MAXI / MAXI route
Etap 1 / Stage 1 – Rowery górskie / Mountain biking – 28,0 km
Etap 2 / Stage 2 – Trekking / Trekking – 23,5 km
Etap 3 / Stage 3 – Narty biegowe / Cross-country skiing – 12,0 km
Etap 4 / Stage 4 – Rowery górskie / Mountain biking – 16,5 km

Transition areas
1. All transition areas are in the same place, but this place is not the race base.
2. Because the size and locaton of transition area there is an equipment limit (limit of the amount of equipment that one participant can lodge and transfer by organizers to the transition area)
- The maximum amount of package per one person - 1 piece + ski set (just cross-country skis, ski-boots, poles, goggles)
- The maximum weight of the package - 10 kilograms per person + ski set
- Before the start you must prepare your packages for the transport and locate at the designated place.
- Packages must be packed in the way that allows moving it with no problems.

The MINI BWC 2008 is approaching... Every year the interest in this event is bigger, but this year it's extremly big! More than 60 people have already signed for it! We are very happy, especially because the weather circumstances seems to be perfect!

The New Year in Piwniczna Zdrój started up with a hard frost. At night the temperature oscillate about 20 degrees below zero... But it doesn't damp ardour of the competitors:-) There are already 12 team registrted for masters category and 17 for speed! We wait for more teams to compete!

Interest in this edition of Bergson Winter challenge is growing very fast! There are 7 teams registered for masters already: 3 from Estonia, 2 from Russia, 1 form Ukraine and one from UK. For the speed category there are 7 teams as well, but mostly from Poland, just one team is from Russia. The temperature in Piwniczna Zdrój is on the minus. It seems that winter this year will be freezing! But now we wish you nice and warm atmosphere for Christmas and The Happy New Year 2008!

Preparations to BWC 2008 have started! Organizators went to the mountains for the first treck recognition. Beskid Sądecki with absolutely amazing views and high level of snow was charming. It seems that during this edition nothing will replace snow shoes. Winding roads, wide horizont of mountains and small houses on the bottom are breath-taking! Cross-country skiing treck looks nice:) What's interesting, on one of the skiing treck there is an information to take the skiis off, because the path is too steep. The race is going to be a great fun!
